Welcome to Old Stationers' Football
Club |
|
Old Stationers' Football Club
is based in Barnet and is affiliated to the AFA running 5
sides (+ 2 Vets) that compete in the Southern Amateur League,
AFA Cup and Old Boys Cup competitions.
The Club is steeped in history, has a rich
tradition and recently celebrated it's centennary. Intent
on playing for another 100 years, we always welcome fresh
local talent (16 years & over) with open arms and a sense
of relief. |

| BOXING
DAY BREEZERS !!! |
|
A reminder that we have our traditional
Boxing Day games away v
OLD FINCHLEIANS,
funnily enough, on Boxing Day Saturday 26th Dec
KO 11am at Old Finchleians, Southover, Woodside Park, N12
7JE
(Tel no. 0208 445 7406)
Two games, one a Vets/Social XI and one
a Younger/Socially inept XI (only joking
please don't sue!) . If you fall into either category and
want to play (the invitation is open to players from ALL XIs)
please either let your captain know or contact Ian Meyrick
or Dave Gilligan who's details are on the teamsheet.
This is an ideal opportunity to get some fresh air, to run
off some of that turkey and Christmas pud and/or get away
from the in-laws!
ALL SPECTATORS are most welcome particularly
those with plenty of cash and a raging thirst!!

| Spotlight
|
This
week's spotlight falls squarely on the unsung and respected club representatives,
the 5thXI, for no better reason than they deserve
to be noticed for the squeeky-clean, disciplined, fully-paid up and
well-oiled machine-like way they go about their OS business. Particular
mention for the most unsung of all – their seasoned captain,
coach and Director of Football – Nick Plin.
Pictures below are from last weeks resounding 7-3 home victory over
Winchmore Hill to bag mid-table obscurity for
Christmas. The captain's full and impartial report can be found in
the usual
place. |

The well-oiled machine that is the 5thXI
|
Plans hatched, victory sealed, subs collected
& still looking good |
Mike Kassie, still in character but the disguise
simply doesn't work |
Mike
Nwosu slots home to calm the nerves late on
|
Nothing to do with the 5thXI... but here's
a welcome sight called Jon & Nigel.
