Report: Our seventh consecutive win. On the only pitch AP have that is steep enough to drain, the surface texture was like porridge. You may infer that the quality of the football was not excellent; but our performance was good enough for the 3 points. Our opener was scored mid-way through the first half by John Murphy from about thirty yards out. His speculative shot went in off the inside of the post, and capped a period of pressure. The oppo were a bit rattled by conceding, and the game turned in our favour as their confidence seemed to dip. Ed Williams added a second goal shortly thereafter from a run down the left; where he offered a good outlet for the whole game. Gary Hulkes probably missed about five from then on until half time; by his recent standards inexplicably putting the ball wide when through in great positions.
Second half playing up the the hill we played more on the break as the game became a bit of a stalemate. The oppo did threaten from time to time, but we covered well. They got one back from a free kick given away at the edge of our box, and for the last fifteen minutes they pushed for an equaliser. It was our game though three minutes from time when Ed Williams won us a penalty, which was calmly dispatched by man of the match Lee Hunt.
