Winchmore Hill 4-6 OSFC 3rd XI

We decided to go for the 4-5-1 system we have become familiar with. We quickly got into our stride when Jamie Luis twice got through only to hit the ball at the keeper on both occasions. We were moving and passing the ball when the opposition picked up a ball on the left and beat his man to fire past our keeper.To make matters worse we quickly found ourselves 2-0 down. We were still playing decent football and we didn't really deserve to be behind with our team the more dominant. From a short goal kick we gave the ball away on the right for their forward to fire in - 3-0. We scored an important goal just before half time by an outstanding debut by David Boateng who broke through to fire home 3-1. Second half and we decide to change formation back to the good old 4-4-2. We had to go for it. As luck was not on our side Winchmore scored a very fortunate goal when they broke down the left and fired which our keeper got a hand to but couldnt keep out - 4-1. Within minutes our man of the match David Boateng scored a cracker to thrash home to make it 4-2. About ten minutes after Mark Nwosu outran their defender to slot the ball under their keeper for 4-3. We had them encamped in their own half, full siege on. We were relentless in our ethic and approach. Alex had a couple of chances but was unlucky not to score. Then a moment of pure magic our little "Ronaldo" Ricardo Price smashed in a beauty when he cut in from the left beat a couple of players and hammered it into the top corner - 4-4. We wanted it and were thirsty sure enough we got the 5th when our Dan"Lampard" Avis does what he does best; get into the box and gets a goal of huge proportion for us to make it 5-4 to us. We put the nail in the coffin with 3 minutes to go when Ryan Riley out on the right-wing put on the burners and dribbles past one guy then another, looks up and absolutely spanks another wonder goal into the roof of the net from about 20-25 yards. 6-4 Stationers. We play out the remaining minutes. What a team display totally dominant from start to finish. Well done all. Man of the match - David Boateng. Classy, silky, strong and never gave the ball away and 2 goals in the mix. Have to call out Richardo Price for a young kid dancing and spinning around players as if they weren't there. Truly mesmerizing. Haway the lads onwards and upwards. COYS
